MCA is a professional program recognized by AICTE. It is a full time 2-year programme with 4 semesters. The programme has 15 theory papers and 7 lab papers, along with 2 project (mini project & main project), one seminar presentation and viva voce are being conducted at the end of each semester to improve their academic excellence. Student’s performance during each Semester is assessed by conducting internal & model examinations. Active involvement of students in teaching learning process is assured via academic seminars and assignments throughout the semesters.

The department assists students to improve themselves and directs them in research and publications. Also, the students are provided with employability skill training programmes in first and fourth semester to enhance their aptitude, confidence level boosting, and train them as industry ready candidates.

The Objectives of MCA (2 years) is

• To prepare students for productive careers in software industry, corporate sector, Govt. organizations and academia by providing skill-based environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline.
• The Programmes thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and skill-oriented programmes relevant to the latest computer software development.
• The programme emphasizes the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications/networking and commercial problems.
• This Master’s Degree Programme has been designed with a semester approach in mind.
• The first-year programmes are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year is more focused on core programmes providing conceptual frame work and the third year provides the specialization and the project work.

A candidate seeking admission to MCA programme must have

• A pass with not less than 50% marks in any recognized regular bachelor's Degree programme of minimum three years’ duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level.
• A pass with not less than 50% marks in any recognized Regular Bachelor’s Degree programme of minimum three years’ duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics/Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the Subjects.
• A pass with not less than 50% marks in BCA/BSc Computer Science/ BSc Information Technology/ B. Tech degree of a minimum three years’ duration from a recognized University.
